Retief Goosen grew up in South Africa where he learned how to play this great game. His calmness is one of the greatest attributes as he never seems to be derailed by the frustrations that golf can bring. Coupled with his consistency, it’s no wonder why he is almost always in contention in US Opens where courses are always tough.
In 2001, Retief Goosen won his first US Open (and first major for him) but it didn’t end there as he racked up another one in 2004. Since those wins, no one would ever count him out on any majors, especially US Opens as he’s always right there in contention. During 2008, Retief’s performance dropped off a bit but I would never count him out so watch out for him to catch fire again!
